Description
Passiflora incarnata
Also known as: Purple Passion Vine
Maypop Passion vine has 3 inches, large lavender flowers that are arranged in unbelievably intricate and fantastical layer. This vine gets a fresh start each spring, so it never gets too big or ungainly. It has tendrils for climbing, but it’s often found sprawling along the ground, where it seems to bloom and grow just as well. The fruit is a pale yellow, 2 inches long in the early autumn. The root system is deep and may colonize to form a ground cover.
Please beware that parts of this plant may be toxic if ingested.
