Stokesia laevis
Also known as: Stokes Aster
Stokesia is a flowering plants in the daisy family, Asteracae,containing the single species Stokesia laevis. Common names include Stokes’ aster and stokesia. The species is native to the southeastern United States. The flowers appear in the summer and are white in nature. The plant is cultivated as a garden flower. Like a few other plants it contains vernolic acid, a vegetable oil in commercial applications.

Soil: Average, Moist to dry. Very heat and drought tolerant. A wonderful choice for a summer cut flower arrangement or planted in perennial borders.
