Beautiful pink flowers, tough, multi-branch perennial with a long bloom period. Growing 3-4 foot tall and wide in full sun or part shade. Should be a drought tolerant once establishes and have the vigor of both parents. Unlike most greggii forms, it should thrive in subtropical areas. Good garden soil or sandy loam, humus and lime are helpful. The plant produces flowers its first year and grows rapidly, attaining full size in its second year. Adored by hummingbirds and butterflies but usually ignored by deer. Deadheading will promote flower production. In late winter, remove all woody stems as close to the ground as possible to encourage new growth in spring. Another outstanding salvia to grow in mass planting.
