Starter Plants are ONLY available for a short time, before they are planted in large containers. That's why there's only a few select shipping dates. Some starter plants are available at different times and can not be ship with other orders. So you'll see on your check out cart two different shipping charges for those items. All starter plants will be available in larger sizes later in the growing season.
What are Starter Plants/Starter Plugs:
Starter plugs are commercially grown as very small plants in trays of 32, 60, 72 or 105 plugs per tray. These starter plugs are normally sold to wholesale growers and nurseries only. The grower or nursery then grows the plants to the size that you purchase them in the retail store. They are small plants that will grow fairly fast and that's why they are so inexpensive. Annuals and perennials are started this way in the commercial trade. If you want to double or triple your garden within a few months with perennials or annuals it's economically smart to start with starter plugs (SP). Starter Plants/Starter Plugs will require a little tender loving care but will quickly grow as the season gets warmer.

How to Grow:
When you first receive your starter plants, unpack them and water them well. Place one plant plug in a 2-4 inch pot in soil mix (miracle grow or jungle mix.) Place the pots in a shady spot to rest and adjust to the shock of shipping for two to three days. To grow your starter plugs in preparation for spring, let them grow for 4 to 6 weeks in the small pots so that the roots are strong when you transplant them into your garden. Seven to ten days after you have transplanted them into the 2-4 inch pots apply ¼ strength miracle grow once a week for 2 weeks. After the two weeks they will take the regular strength fertilizer. When they grow out in smaller containers you will have a stronger, healthier and well established plant ready to transplant to your favorite garden spot.

Shipping:
Plants will be shipped between late March and late April. You can chose a preferred shipping date. Please note we ship Monday through Wednesday only to insure that you receive healthy plants. Each plug will be moistened and wrapped individually and secured for its journey to arrive safely at your door via USPS Priority Mail. We use only blank newsprint as packing and filler materials and NO poly peanuts to deal with. We take pride in our packing and treat each plant order as if it was fine china.
Our Guarantee:
We guarantee our plants to be labeled true to name, healthy and disease free at time of shipping. Once shipped, plants become the total responsibility of the buyer. That means you are responsible for all problems with your mail delivery, handling and gardening practices. Due to any unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel sales if a problem develops with the plants. If such an unforeseen event should occur, a refund will be issued.
