Description 

Salvia gesneraeflora Tequila, Big Mexican Scarlet Sage

A brilliant red flower with maroon black calyxes on a 16" spikes with aromatic foliage.  A striking ornamental that has a nice, erect bushy habit and is spectacular with many spikes.  Blooming later from fall to early winter. A hummingbird magnet!  Advise planting outside for blooms only in southern coastal areas.

Hardiness Zone 9 (8b maybe with winter mulch)
7 feet tall 6 feet wide (forms a colony)
Half shade best, filter late afternoon sun
Soil: Average, sandy loam, humus and lime are helpful
Moisture:  Deep weekly during dry spells, drought tolerant once establisher
